Jay Cutler to play; gives Bears the edge

The Chicago Sun-times is reporting that Jay Cutler has been cleared to play against the Minnesota Vikings tomorrow. Cutler had been unavailable due to a concussion prior to being cleared.

Cutler's availability is huge news for nearly every team in the NFC North. The Bears are desperately trying to hang on to their divisional title hopes. The Packers are hoping to see the Bears drop another game to an otherwise inferior team, and the Vikings are just on the outside of the wildcard race looking in.

Jay Cutler give the Bears a definitive edge over the Vikings by playing. Without Cutler, Chicago's already questionable offensive unit becomes even more anemic.

The Vikings now have to alter the way they plan to defend the Bears. With a backup quarterback taking the snaps, they could load up on defending the run. With Cutler now slated to play, the Vikings have to concern themselves more with the passing game.
