Polamalu re-injures his right calf

The Steelers were excited to get back a pair of star defenders today against their in-state rival, the Philadelphia Eagles. James Harrison has looked like his old self, flying around the field. On the other hand, Troy Polamalu's day came to an abrupt end.

Near the end of the first quarter, Polamalu re-aggravated his right calf on a play that Michael Vick fumbled the ball away to the Steelers. Per Fox's sideline report, Polamalu will not return, although the extent to the injury is currently unknown.

Ryan Mundy is the Steelers backup safety, and he is a very capable player deep. Still, the injury changes the way the Steelers play defense on a play by play basis.

Ike Taylor also exited the game in the second quarter. He has not returned to the game to this point, further hurting the Steelers' secondary.
