Reed Brady Slide

Ed Reed puts hip injury blame on Tom Brady

You'll rarely see a quarterback be blamed for injuring a star defensive player, but that seems to be the case in Houston, as safety Ed Reed seems to believe that a questionable (dirty) move by Patriots quarterback Tom Brady may have led to his current him issues.

Near the end of the AFC championship game, Tom Brady scrambled and put his leg out, apparently injuring Reed to some degree. No penalty was assessed, but Brady was later fined by the NFL for the questionable leg extension.

Now, according to Dan Hanzus of NFL.com, Reed is heaping blame for his struggles to get on the football field on Brady, saying, "If I go back to it, man, the only play I can look at is when I got kicked by a certain quarterback. You know it happened, and Brady called me afterwards and apologized, but that’s neither here nor there. What happened happened and we’re moving forward."

Reed continued to give his credentials as a tough player.

"I played in the Super Bowl and you saw what happened there … I had two MCL sprains, a second degree one in my left [knee] that happened in the Super Bowl in the first quarter and played through that. So if you've got any questions, I think that can answer your questions about my heart and how I play and how I work."

In summation, Ed Reed would be on the football field practicing with his teammates if it was at all possible, but his hip woes have prevented that to this point. He'll likely be back before the end of training camp, but the injury will put him behind in preparation for the regular season.
