8 crazy stats from Week 14

We’ll get to Drew Brees’ oddness and Odell Beckham Jr. doing something pretty rare in Week 14. But first, the St. Louis Rams and a lot of zeros.

0: The amount of points allowed by the Rams over the past two weeks, with their latest shutout a 24-0 blanking of the Redskins.

128: The game minutes that have ticked by without the Rams allowing a single point, going back to the fourth quarter of Week 12.

76-0: The combined score of the Rams’ last two games. Yes, all of this shutout pummeling has come against the woeful Raiders and Redskins. But that matters so very little when the margin of victory is slanted so heavily toward the team do the defensive stuffing.

151-6: The offensive yards scoreboard in favor of Giants over the Titans after just the first quarter. The end wasn’t much better (402-207), and for once the Giants were on the right side of a flaming dumpster fire game.

55: Brees’ passing yards at halftime of another blowout. But don’t worry, a team from the NFC South will still host a playoff game.

711: Le’Veon Bell’s total yards from scrimmage over the Steelers’ last three games. That includes 235 yards during a key win over the Bengals as the now three-game gladiator match for the AFC North continues.

23.5: Julio Jones’ average yards per reception. He finished with 259 total yards during a Monday night loss to the Packers. He set a single game Falcons record, and it was the most receiving yards ever allowed by a Packers defense. Looking back to last week, Jones now has 448 yards over his last two games.

3: The amount of rookie wide receivers over the past 25 years who have recorded two 10-catch games, the latest being Odell Beckham Jr. with his 11 catches for 130 yards in Week 14.

About Sean Tomlinson

Hello there! This is starting out poorly because I already used an exclamation point. What would you like to know about me? I once worked at a mushroom farm, which is sort of different I guess (don't eat mushrooms). I'm pretty wild too, and at a New Year's Eve party years ago I double-dipped a chip. Oh, and I write about football here and in a few other places around the Internet, something I did previously as the NFL features writer and editor at The Score. Let's be friends.
