This weekend in NFL stupid

A recap of all that was stupid during the 15th weekend of the 2014 NFL season…

That led directly to a Cincinnati touchdown. Officials have to stop guessing on these fast-paced calls. Replay review on penalties would help.

The stupidest penalty, NFC edition

This has become a weekly thing. Really bad unnecessary roughness or roughing the passer calls have become ubiquitous. But this is the closest example I’ve ever seen to a player being penalized for hitting too hard…

That was a game-changing call. Maybe even a season-changer. Can’t happen. And again, it’s not even totally on the officials. Ed Hochuli screwed up here, and the league has since admitted that. But let Jim Harbaugh challenge that!

The stupidest penalty

I know it’s easy to get fired up in the heat of the battle, Rey Maualuga, but you clearly can’t do this…

Funny, but stupid.

The stupidest decision to do something you’re technically supposed to do

It just isn’t worth the risk, Peyton. Not when your team has another down to work with.
