2015 Mock Draft: Picks 17-32

On Wednesday, we posted the first half of our newest mock draft. Today, we explore the second half of the first round…

Here are picks 17-32:

17. San Diego Chargers – Todd Gurley, RB, Georgia

Because of his late 2014 ACL injury, Gurley dropped way below his potential and San Diego takes the first running back of the 2015 NFL Draft.

18. Kansas City Chiefs – Dorial Green-Beckham, WR, Oklahoma

Here’s another player that has slipped below his talent level because of off-the-field issues at Missouri. DGB spent a year at Oklahoma on the sidelines and the Chiefs hope that has matured him.

19. Cleveland Browns (via Buffalo Bills) – Malcolm Brown, DT, Texas

Brown fits a need and as one of the best interior linemen in the draft, the Browns scoop him up after grabbing Devante Parker at WR earlier this round.

20. Philadelphia Eagles – Landon Collins, S, Alabama

Who knows where Chip Kelly will go here but we’ll say he goes with a need and grabs Landon Collins.

21. Cincinnati Bengals – Arik Armstead, DE, Oregon

The Bengals need to get after the quarterback and that’s why they go Armstead here. His stats don’t jump out at you but he has tremendous upside.

22. Pittsburgh Steelers – Marcus Peters, CB, Washington

Peters is a player with character issues but clearly has a high talent level. He could have been a top 15 pick without the issues that surround him.

23. Detroit Lions – D.J. Humphries, OT, Florida

With the weight he has added in the off-season, Humphries has jumped up the board and the Lions are glad to see him still available here.

24. Arizona Cardinals – Melvin Gordon, RB, Wisconsin

With Gordon still on the board, the Cards simply can’t pass him up.

25. Carolina Panthers – Andrus Peat, OT, Stanford

Peat is a guy that the Panthers had doubts would be around at this pick and with the need they have on the line they scoop him up.

26. Baltimore Ravens – Breshad Perriman, WR, UCF

The Ravens need a play-maker and while Perriman is raw he definitely has that “it” factor that the Ravens are looking for at the wide receiver position.

27. Dallas Cowboys – Owamagbe Odighizuwa, DE, UCLA

With pass rushers jumping off the board, Udighizuwa goes higher than expected to a team that really needs pass rushers. My apologies to the Cowboys beat writers.

28. Denver Broncos – T.J. Clemmings, OT, Pitt

Peyton Manning needs an offensive tackle so it’s an offensive tackle that Peyton Manning gets.

29. Indianapolis Colts – Eddie Goldman, DT, Florida State

Needing help on the defensive line, the Colts go with Goldman here as he will help the Colts stop the run.

30. Green Bay Packers – Eric Kendricks, ILB, UCLA

The Packers sit around and #30 and come away with the best player at his position in the draft. Kendricks fits a need and is a good fit for the Packers defense.

31. New Orleans Saints (via Seattle) – Jaelen Strong, WR, Arizona State

The Saints went Bud Dupree in the first round, so they take offense here as Strong will fill a need vacated by Kenny Stills and Jimmy Graham.

32. New England Patriots – Byron Jones, CB, UConn

After losing two corners in free agency, the Patriots pick one up here with tremendous upside.
