TGS weekly MVP tracker: Back to Brady

With 16 whole weeks remaining in the 2015 NFL regular season, here’s how we view the MVP race…

1. Tom Brady, Patriots — Seven touchdowns, no picks in two dominant performances and one-sided victories over quality AFC opponents. Angry Brady is scary Brady.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Packers — He actually has a higher passer rating than Brady and has also yet to throw a pick for the 2-0 Pack, who finally beat the Seahawks to move to 2-0.

3. Carson Palmer, Cardinals — The underrated veteran has seven touchdowns to only one interception and also has a higher rating than Brady after two dominant victories to start the season.

4. Andy Dalton, Bengals — Like Rodgers, he has five touchdowns and no picks on a 2-0 team. Time to start giving this guy more credit.

5. Antonio Brown, Steelers — Ben Roethlisberger will eventually emerge as a stronger candidate in Pittsburgh, but for now Brown is on pace for a record 2,624 receiving yards.

6. Julio Jones, Falcons — Is this the year of the receiver? Again, Matt Ryan will eventually get more love here for Atlanta, but Jones has carried the Falcons to a 2-0 start and is on pace to put up a silly 2,208 yards. By the way, a receiver has never been an MVP.

On the fringe: Roethlisberger, Tony Romo and Marcus Mariota.

Honorable mentions to defenders Ryan Shazier, Sean Lee, Justin Houston, J.J. Watt and Aaron Donald. None are legit contenders, though.
