TGS weekly MVP tracker: Cam Newton joins the discussion

With 11 whole weeks remaining in the 2015 NFL regular season, here’s how we view the MVP race…

1. Tom Brady, Patriots — New England is still perfect and Brady is the league’s highest-rated passer. Enough said.

2. Aaron Rodgers, Packers — But Green Bay is also perfect and Rodgers leads the league with 15 touchdown passes and only two interceptions.

3. Andy Dalton, Bengals — Oh, and the Bengals are perfect and Dalton’s 116.1 rating ranks second to only Brady.

4. Cam Newton, Panthers — The numbers aren’t as pretty, but Newton has been carrying the Panthers in a special way. This team wouldn’t be close to 5-0 without him.

5. Carson Palmer, Cardinals –His stock has fallen of late, but he’s still got a 106.9 rating and the Cards are leading the NFC West.

6. Ben Roethlisberger, Steelers — His small-sample-size numbers are superb, but the Steelers have survived without him. Le’Veon Bell and Antonio Brown deserve a lot of credit, which hurts Big Ben’s case.
