Week 5 NFL game watchability rankings

Week 5 in the NFL is here, and you might be entering the weekend with your own preferences regarding which games to focus on, and which to place on the backburner.

Most of you have your favorites and fantasy players to track. But in case you’re completely neutral or need help breaking ties with regard to what to watch, we’ve ranked all 14 games from most appealing to least enticing.

1. Seahawks at Bengals (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): This is a really fun potential Super Bowl preview between the most balanced team in football and one that is starting to find a groove after a slow start. In Cincinnati, it should be entertaining.

2. Saints at Eagles (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): This is a great desperation game between two 1-3 teams with tremendous offensive weapons. The loser might be toast, and it should be close.

3. Broncos at Raiders (Sunday, 4 p.m. ET, CBS): Watch for the improved Raiders to put up a fight here at home against a Broncos team that has merely been surviving this season.

4. Steelers at Chargers (Monday night, ESPN): Pittsburgh on the road sans Ben Roethlisberger could be trouble, but the Steelers are well-rested and nothing’s a given with San Diego. Should be a good game.

5. Rams at Packers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS): Blowout potential exists here, but you never know with the Rams and this is worth watching to check out the league’s red-hot reigning MVP.

6. Patriots at Cowboys (Sunday, 4 p.m. ET, CBS): This could also be a blowout, but Tom Brady is worth some eyeballs as well, and the Cowboys are always a draw.

7. Redskins at Falcons (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): With some help from an underrated defense, Kirk Cousins and the ‘Skins are hanging in there. But even if they don’t put up a fight in Atlanta, the new-look, 4-0 Falcons are worthy of your eyeballs.

8. Colts at Texans (Thursday night, CBS/NFL Network): Houston could put up a fight here. It has won three of its last five at home against the Colts, who are dealing with that Andrew Luck injury. Throw in J.J. Watt and this is worth checking out.

9. Cardinals at Lions (Sunday, 4 p.m. ET, FOX): Arizona has been good and the snakebitten Lions are better than their 0-4 record. At home, they should keep this close so keep tabs.

10. Jaguars at Buccaneers (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS): Jacksonville is no longer a complete slouch but has to prove this year will be different by avoiding 1-4 with a road win, while top pick Jameis Winston will also try to make a statement after an ugly start to his rookie season.

11. 49ers at Giants (Sunday night, NBC): San Francisco is a mess. On the road, this could be a blowout. But it could be a fun train wreck to watch.

12. Browns at Ravens (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS): The loser is basically done, but does anyone really think Cleveland is sticking around in Baltimore? The Browns haven’t won there since 2007.

13. Bills at Titans (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, CBS): If Tennessee sticks around, monitor late. Otherwise, this is worth a skip.

14. Bears at Chiefs (Sunday, 1 p.m. ET, FOX): It doesn’t look like either 1-3 team is going anywhere, so there isn’t much allure here.
