7th Round:
1. DT Jeremiah Ratliff, Bears (224th pick by the Cowboys in 2005) – He’s been an interior menace that’s terrorized his way to 4 Pro Bowls.
2. CB Cortland Finnegan, Dolphins (215th pick by the Titans in 2006) – A very strong cover man throughout his career, Finnegan made the Pro Bowl in 2008. He has 18 career interceptions.
3. WR Marques Colston, Saints (252nd pick by the Saints in 2006) – How this guy has never made the Pro Bowl is beyond me. He’s eclipsed 1,000 yards receiving in 6 of his 8 seasons as a pro (943 yards last year). During the entirety of the Drew Brees regime he’s always been the trigger man’s most trusted and reliable target.
4. WR Steve Johnson, Bills (224th pick by the Bills in 2008) – He can get behind defenders with the best of them and has had three 1,000-yard seasons. Terrific value pick this turned out to be.
5. RB Ahmad Bradshaw, Colts (250th pick by the Giants in 2007) – He’s never been a superstar but the 2-time Super Bowl champ has always been an overachiever and a very productive NFL player. He’s run for 1,000 yards twice.
6. WR Julian Edelman, Patriots (232nd pick by the Patriots in 2009) – He’s been a role player for four seasons until he exploded for a breakout campaign last season. He had 105 receptions for 1,056 yards and 6 touchdowns. He figures to play a prominent role in the Tom Brady offense moving forward.
7. T Zach Strief, Saints (210th pick by the Saints in 2006) – Like Colston he remains a prominent starter on the team today at right tackle despite being drafted in the 7th round in 2006. He is coming off his best season as a pro and was rewarded handsomely.
8. QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, Texans (250th pick by the Rams in 2005) – He’s been a starter for four different teams and the Texans will be his 5th team. While he’s always been average, he’s still a guy that can come in and give you a quality spot start. He’s the ideal backup. He has 106 career touchdowns and 93 career interceptions.
9. RB Peyton Hillis, Giants (227th pick by the Broncos in 2008) – His career has crashed and burned since his magical 2010 season which saw him on the cover of Madden. He did have 1,000 yards rushing and 11 touchdowns that season, though. He’s still in the league as a decent backup.
10. CB Captain Munnerlyn, Vikings (216th pick by the Panthers in 2009) – At 5’9″ his size limits his production to an extent but Munnerlyn is a solid corner that plays above his size and shows great toughness. He’s been a solid starter for Carolina before landing a free-agent deal with the Vikings this offseason.
